I have a friendly and patient approach to language learning. I carefully tailor my lessons around each of my student’s needs, interests and ambitions, keeping study sessions fun and motivation high.
Based in South-West London, I cover most areas within South and Central London. I am available for tuition at either my own or the student’s home or office and online via Zoom or Skype. I currently work on Mondays from 9am-8pm, Tuesdays to Fridays from 6.30pm-8.30pm and at weekends from 11am-7pm.

Whether it is for exams, business, or leisure, everybody has their own reason to learn a language, therefore every course is unique and tailored to meet individual needs.
My aim is to equip my tutees with the confidence and skills to become proficient and fluent in French.
For students preparing for exams, the division of focus in the four skills of Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening is more even in response to the Common Entrance, GCSE, Scholarship and A-level requirements.
Conversational classes, although mainly based on the verbal aspects of the language, are supported by reading and grammatical tasks in order to develop vocabulary and accuracy.
Our basic and current rates for one-to-one tuition are as follows:
All fees are to be paid in full at the end of each lesson. Should you need to cancel a pre-booked lesson, you need to give minimum 24 hours notice, without which you will be charged for the missed lesson.
If I need to cancel a lesson, I will do my best to inform you as soon as I can. In this case, you will not be charged for the lesson nor receive any compensation from my part.

"Thank you so much, Anne, for your patience and good humour. My son has gone from B/C French student to an A grade in his Common Entrance in a relatively short space of time. You have impressed us with your excellent knowledge of the curriculum and your infectious enthusiasm. My son has enjoyed his sessions with you and they have given him an eagerness to pursue the language, which was definitely not present before! We will be in touch again as iGCSE approaches" (Mrs Watts, whose son attended Thomas's Clapham)
"Thanks Anne, for your help with my son's Scholarship. The lessons were challenging but always fun, geared to exactly what needed to be worked on. As well as getting through his exams successfully, my son is also much more confident in spoken French and continuing to do well at his new School" (Mrs Fischer, whose son has been awarded a Scholarship at King's College)
“Thank you so much for all you’ve done. My thanks may not be enough! You are an irreplaceable teacher!” (Annabel, GCSE student at St Augustine’s Priory)
“Anne was recommended to me and I too would not hesitate to recommend her. Indeed, thanks to her support, my year 7 son who is preparing for Common Entrance has moved up to the top set and he is now far more confident and positive about his written and oral French work.” (Mrs Brill, whose son attended Thomas’s Clapham)
“I have been enjoying French classes with Anne, for nearly a year now. I am lucky I have the opportunity to visit France on a regular basis and in the past I have always felt anxious about trying to converse with people in case I made a fool of myself. However within a few months of weekly conversation and vocabulary expansion with Anne, my confidence has increased drastically. I feel at ease speaking to my French acquaintances on the phone and I am catching up with my husband who is almost fluent. O level French was never this much fun! (Mrs Prosser, Adult Conversational classes)
